As part of our mission to provide readers with trustworthy health content, we adhere to a policy of separation between editorial and advertising content. We firmly believe you should know the source of the information you're reading. We never allow advertisers to influence editorial content, and all advertising is either clearly separated from editorial content (in standard placements such as banner ads and right-hand units), or clearly labeled "advertisement" or "from our sponsors".
Note: Right now while we are in our exploratory startup phase, there is no advertising on our site.
No Conflicts of Interest or Hidden Agenda
Healthism is an independent, privately funded incorporation registered in Vancouver, Canada. We hold no conflicts of interest and do not represent the interests of any governmental, corporate (including pharmaceutical) or religious organizations or institutions.
We are firm believers in open access to qualified, independent health information. We have a vested interest in assuring you this right.
We Provide Health Information, not Advice
The Healthism website (“the Site”) and the content on the site are created to provide our faithful users with information and not health advice. The information provided on the site is not in any way intended to substitute the advice of health professionals. In plain english, we are a health technology site and not an online doctor. As such, please follow these guidelines:
- If you feel you are having a medical emergency, please call 911 or contact your doctor as soon as possible.
- For all medical conditions and symptoms, please seek the advice of your physician to answer your questions, or review any information you may learn from Healthism
- Never delay seeking the advice of a medical professional because of what you’ve read on Healthism
