Screen Your Teenager For Autism Online

Autism is part of a group of developmental disabilities known as autism spectrum disorders (ASDs) which includes autism and pervasive developmental disorders (PDDs). Teenagers with autism handle information in their brain differently than other people. A teenager with autism may talk, interact, behave, and learn in different ways. Autism can range from being mild to severe. About 1 in 110 kids in the U.S. has autism. Boys are 4 times more likely than girls to have autism.

If you are concerned about the way your teenager interacts with others, learns, speaks, or acts, take this screening test for adolescents aged 12-15 designed by the Autism Research Center at the University of Cambridge. You'll get a good idea of how your teen compares to other teenagers in terms of showing signs and symptoms of autism. If you or your doctor think your teenager may have a problem, ask to see a specialist who is an expert in diagnosing autism such as a developmental pediatrician, psychologist or neurologist and share this result.
