Introduction

Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS) is a neurological disorder that is defined by uncomfortable and odd feelings in the limbs which are relieved by movements or walking. When the affected individuals are at rest, are lying down, are sitting or during sleep, they usually feel an irresistible urge to move their limbs, especially their legs, or to engage in some type of activity that involves walking. Although legs are the most common limbs that are implicated in the disorder, less frequently one can experience the uncomfortable urge to move the hands or the trunk.
